Greetings, All, A while back, Xavi and I did a little trade, in which I send him some goodies he needed and wanted, and he sent me two Pigeon Ignus stoves. One of these stoves had a roarer burner, and after I change the gaskets and pips, will be ready to use. It was missing its pot stand, however. The other stove is a parts stove, consisting of only the fuel tank, a loose silent burner, and case. Before Xavi and I concluded our trade, I found a complete Iggie on French eBay, and ended up winning that one, too. So, now I have three Iggies, two to use, and one either for parts, or major repairs. The problems was that I needed to locate a correct pot stand for the good Ignus that Xavi sent my way. I had read that our own Zincman, who I already knew was excellent in working with metals, had made some reproduction pot stands for the Iggies of a few others of our Stove Mates, so I gave him a shout, to see if he would be up for making yet another one. Duncan very kindly accepted this project, and thanks to his excellent skills and talents, I now have the pot stand in which I stood in need!! Here are a few photos of the new pot stand, compared to an original pot stand. And, here's the forlorn little parts Iggie, which is in need of a bit more help before it can return to service. Seen here, the spindle of this burner is broken off. I have a feeling that a new extension could probably be brazed onto the end of that stub, but we'll see how it turns out. And, here's the proper way to pack up the pot stands underneath the fuel tank and burner. Doing it this way, makes sliding the works into and out of the case, much easier. As you can see, Zincman did a bang-up, top notch job on crafting a proper pot stand, which fits my Ignus almost as if it grew there!! I am glad Doc you are enjoying our deal. I'm playing with the stoves I got from the trade almost every day... I have to say that before working out that deal with you I also PMed Duncan, asking for a pot stand... The pot stand looks killer! Very good job right there. Morning, Xavi, It was great fun doing some trading with you, and I think we both got a great deal out of it! I have yet to change out the gaskets and pips in the roarer Ignus that you sent me, but did do so on the one I got from France. However, I have not fired it up, just yet. When I get time to fettle the stove you sent, I'll take flame shots of both the roarer and silent Iggies, and post them in the Stove Reference Gallery, just for fun. I look forward to doing that!
