Picked up recently in a auction group buy.

I knew it was a Prabhat from the listing, haven't been able to find much about this model so thought I'd add it here to SRG for future reference.

As bought, (I'm also attracted to homemade travel boxes)

Lit as arrived, jet needs attention or replacement

I could see the name and model number barely and finally succumbed to cleaning the model number area off, which led to more cleaning than I intended.

Optimus 00 size and shares a few similarities such as the feet and a reserve cap on the end of pump handle, which is of no use as a reserve cap as both the riser and the proper reserve cap (which is missing from its storage retainer on the fuel cap) are both male threaded.
Within the pump cap there is a disc of rubber material bearing partial Prabhat name, maybe spare pip material?

Hard to see but base is double branded with Prabhat India at 11 and 5 o'clock

All parts were branded apart from the trivet.

As to age, I have no idea? I was told by the elderly seller that the two stoves included in the sale were from the family camping gear, the other is a 1951 Primus No.5, so sometime since then I guess, and probably before the creation of Prabhat Udyog in mid 1960's due to lack of Udyog on fount brand stamp?

    Nice little stove.

    Cheers

Glad to see that stove has gone to a good home. It's cleaned up nicely.
I was kind of tempted but thought the shipping for the two stoves in their boxes was going to be terrible. And of course would have had the problem of where to put them.

    Thanks @gnome
I was able to wing a pick up and was rewarded with being to look over as yet unlisted items, a tall homemade lantern case caught my eye, even more so when I opened the lid to see Coleman green.
Made a very honest offer and left with a nice 249E with a few extra bits in the case, which was good as July had been a Stovie month up till then, need to keep the gpa's balanced lol

    Cheers
