Recently I contacted primus.us Customer Service to notify them of a problem with their Himalaya VF/MF maintenance kits. I have yet to hear back from them after 2 weeks, so I thought I'd share the problem here. The first 2 pictures are the base of the burner with and without a priming pad so that you can see the relation between the two. The shelf and priming pad are about .067" or 1.7mm. You can see that the pad is basically flush with the bottom of the ridge. Here are some recently received priming pads and there a 2 included with each kit. Sizes included in each kit were random. The thinnest again was approximately .068"/ 1.7mm. Next up were .110"/2.8mm and finally the thickest were 1.58"/4mm. The middle pads could possibly be compressed enough to work, and I ended up with 6 or 8 of those. The thickest one's are useless in this application and are also the same thickness of an Omni-Fuel pad. Luckily, I only ended up with 4 of those. Since I have been collecting parts for over a decade, I had replacements on hand. It would have been nice if Primus through Liberty Mountain Sports would offer to fix the issue. I hope they fix this quality control problem and no one else gets the wrong size pads.
