    Just to be clear, regarding the title of this thread, the date has not been changed despite the new evidence that the Ultraprimus apparatus was first available early in 1893. The 1895 date has been retained for this example because of the design of the pump. The pump on this example has a fixed hexagon ring on the outer end to allow use of a spanner removal and reinsertion. This modification only appeared on the latter end of Primus' removable pump stove production. The pumps used on earlier date examples had no spanner hex and required a special peg tool to install and remove. On the earlier date adverts above it is just possible to see that there is not a hex on the pump tube outer ends.
