    Nice to have faith in me, parramethtrol.

    I have no 'inside' knowledge at all.

    I usually pronounce it in the anglicised way: SVEE AH.

    I suspect it is more like: SVEH AH.

    Can one of our Swedish members do an audio recording and store it in Photobucket and then put a link on the site.

    As well as Svea, how obout 'Radius'?

    To be perfectly correct, pi equals the circumference divided by twice the radius.
    . . . . but I like your 'spoiler' better! :D :D

    I will worry about stove name pronounciation (sic) when the rest of the world says "Noo Yark" and "Paree".

    Mind you, I still say Bombay, Peking and Rhodesia.

    This is how to say it. A stove all brass the size of a 1 quart tomato can and hot for its size.

    Hey, Mates,

    I just posted this in another thread, for Thuggy, but here goes, again:

    I pronounce our favorite stoves thusly:

    SVEA = Either SVEE-UH, or as Trevor says, "SVEH-UH"

    Primus = Prime-US

    Radius = Raid-E-US

    Trangia = interestingly enough, "Tran-gia"

    I'll very probably continue to do so, no matter how anyone else pronounces the names of these stoves. Unless we actually dig up those folks who originally designed and named these stoves, no matter what anyone else says, we'll just be "guessing", anyway!! ;) 8) :D Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    I'm confused here... :-k
    You still wonder how these stuff is pronounced?
    Didn't the link to the text-to-speech converter I posted earlier in here work!?
    It sure did for me, and as I said; the pronounciation there was good, even if the Optimus one sounded a bit strange.
    Better than if I should make a sound file myself and post it here.

    Edit: better put up the Link again for those who like to pop in to a topic without actually bothering to read the entire thread...
    (Don't forget to set the voice to Swedish. e.g. Erik)

    Hmmm, getting close to what I thought it would be: that the "V" is actually not an 'English sounding' V, but a "W".
    I cannot hear anything on the PC Parramethtrol, so thanks for rendering the 'sound' into written language.
    Now, Radius .... nope, not going there, although I see others have.
    Regards,
    Rob

    Works fine for me. The pronounciations are allmost as I would say it as a Norwegian.
    But I agree, the Optimus sounds a bit strange. Christer, if you select Norwegian when trying Optimus, the pronounciaten is different. Does that sound more correct to you?

    Well spotted Arne!

    The Norwegian pronunciation of Optimus sounded better when it comes to the accentuation (or what's it called... which syllable they stress in the word.).
