    Hi all,

in the meantime I have fieldtested the Svea several times. It burns fantastic, it?s difficult to spot yellow flame tips. :D
I noticed that it takes a while until the stove has reached his deep sound.
When I turn the key at the end of the preheating process, the stove lit evil and there is something like a flame above the burner bell (not out of it). :?
After some seconds the flame "get in" and svea sounds like it have to be.

But otherwhise everything is ok with my svea now. :)

    regards,

    Christoph

    Hi,
Almost all stove will have a floating flame abobve the burner, when there is a lingering flame from the priming fuel under the bell. Its presence seems to affect the burner's ability to produce the normal flame. It is normal to observe the floating flame, as it disappears with the priming fuel.

The 123's "deep sound" means it is at max pressure, and it is advisable to keep an eye on it, so that it does not produce unusually large flame--althought such large flame may satisfy the performance driven mind. The next step not far down the way is the relief valve to open up: an instant transformation into so-called, "Swedish Hand Grenade."

    Hi,

today I opend the valve after the preheating flame was extinguished and lit with a ligthter.
Now there where no floating flame above the burner. So you are right.
With the previous stove setting, I never noticed a floating flame.
It seems that this is the influence of the wick wrapped round the steam.

when undoing the vapouriser -does it require a fair bit of "force" also does the valve spinle merely connect by splines thus jsut neeeding it to be pulled out

    regards biffa

    Revision

In a former posting I claimed that the fuel consumption isn?t raised by the yellow flame tips I because the output is c.p. fixed by the jet orifice.
before that I had reported that Svea probably is more thirsty.

Surely, there can?t get more fuel out than flowing trough the jet, but flametips means incomplete combustion so you have longer cooking times, with the corresponding consumption.
Both assumptions seems to be right.

Same fuel consumptian per time units but more units !
