Had to do a 'double-take' when I saw your picture, Doug. This was the dining table view I had before me at the time:
Hi Ian, That's a real hoot, I'm grinning ear to ear about it. That is a humorous trick to photo whilst in reply on a post. It is more personal I think. Thanks for the return on it, I now see the method in a new light Your table is more cleaned up than mine, I best tidy up before getting the word from the boss-O-the house. Nice lamp on your end, I like the shade too. It fits right in on the table and is lovely. I'm not up on the lamps so let me know which one it is if you get a chance. Thanks for this one Ian, I'm still grinning like a kid that just stole some candy. Regards, Doug
It's a 168K and for quite a while it didn't have a shade; so you can see why yours caught my eye. When I decided a shade might look better I made sure my choice had Mrs. M.'s approval before I went after one. That way there's no problem with it living in civilised (-ish) surroundings Normally it hangs from a beam over the table:
It looks very nice over the table, and a lot better with the shade. Very cozy looking. I will show this set of pics to Mrs. W. We have a Nova Scotian brass Onion style wick lantern (it's a ships lantern I think) hung from a ceiling hook at one corner of the dining area here, I think the shade idea would look really nice if I took the other undecorated corner of the ceiling for the 139 with a shade once I find a suitable one. Just need to make a hook for the lamp. Thanks, Doug
