Hello kerosene lovers 8) Like I told you before, I ran across acouple of stoves a while ago, and decided to make some fetteling this weekend And this is the klient With horrible soldering round the filling And a Hipolito burner. The rust had been tough on the potstands.. And pretty dull. So I removed everything. Came up with a better pair of legs. Which came from this poor b*****d. R.I.P Took some new parts topring, burner, leather cup and NRV The other parts took a acid dive for a couple of hours Made a new rubber gasket Took up the parts from the acid and rubbed alittle Polished them till they shine like the sun. 8) Took the legs away and unsolder the mess around the filling and then polished the whole tank. 8) 8) Made the legs shiny. Fixed them to the tank. And soldered them in place. Putted all the parts togheter with the new burner, A Radius special. With everything in place I filled her up and litted. Then a kettle got on and the test drive was complete. Didn't took long time to boil a litre of water.
Hi Johan, A wonderful set of photos and lovely presentation on the restoration of an interesting stove. You are a Master Fettler. Best Regards, Kerophile.
beautiful! I can hardly believe you got that mess near the filler cap cleared up! It looks just like new now!

For your information: There are some sentences seen at the front side of the stove in different languages. And the bottom line you can see something written in Arabic style. But that language used there is fully Turkish not Arabic. May be you know, during Ottoman Empire ages, Turkish people used to use Arabic alphabet and write Turkish with those characters. After foundation of modern Turkish Republic, we started to use Latin alphabet. Hence the sentence seen there is not Arabic, but completely Turkish. Reading old Turkish books, labels, advertisements etc. is one of my other hobbies. Let me tell, what is written on the above stove: "Look for Radius stoves among other stoves" Just to inform you....
Thats cool sefa, nice to know the true meaning of the words, and a nice bit of trivia, it being written in turkish and not arabic. Locksmith; nice pictures, and well done!
Hello Thank you for all kind answers. I used a blowtorch and heated, then I took a paint brush and wiped the lead away after that it was all polishing work to get the rest. Sorry no pictures my hand was too dirty to hold the camera Thank you Sefa for the info on the text, was this a common frase like the one here on my Primus 303
having had multiple Optimi, I'm used to seeing Aarbic (leters apparently ) but the Sand Scryt and Chinese was a trip to see. Once again, a wonder ful fettle ona Beautiful stove!!! Aaron
