A recent trip to the local car boot sales resulted in the aquisition of the two stoves mentioned. They both have roarer burners and suffer from poor flame patern. The RM shoots flame off to one side and will also pulse and the pressure will change. I am guessing the RM has a jet problem. What would cause the pulsing and is there a cure? The optimus has one half of the flame with yellow tips and the other half low blue flame. They both will blow out if pressure is increased. Is there anything simple to do before stripping and cleaning them? As always any help is appreciated. Ray.
I doubt there'd be much wrong with these that new jets and seals wouldn't put right. Flush the tanks out as well. Even polish them if you feel like going the extra mile...
already did, 1/2 hr in Vinigar, broke down the burner 1st, etc. still weird and kinda crappy output. and down right ODD when I put a 1 pinter jet in it. sputters like a '62 VW on a cold morning. Or was that a Harley Davidson? lol
Use only good clean kero when you test them again. Use the other stuff later when tweaked. Can save some head aches. (from past experience's) Think Shagga is right there. Barra
Prob is? I dont have 1/2 those tools, let alone the skill required. Maybe I can bug Thug about it when I'm back up north. Asside from that? I'll have to cope w/ a pretty stove that dont do a whole lot else....reminds me of a few girlfreinds...
