    Hi .
    I purchased this stove today and would like to find out who made it and it’s approximate year of manufacture.

    Hi @Andrew, the 'dualing blowlamps' tank side marking was B.A.Hjorth's industrial and soldering equipment range marketing trade mark from 1896 up to the WW1 period, and the Lindqvists patent pump tube cap places it pre-1911. The filler cap and pressure release screw appear to be later replacements. A great find and a ferocious heat source when you get it going:thumbup:

    @Andrew

    It’s a Primus but someone who knows the “dueling blowlamps” better that I will give you a better take on when it was made.

    Cheers

    Tony

    Thank you for the info. Cleaned the jets two of which were blocked , replaced the NRV pip, Pump leather and filler cap seal and fired it up. The flames get better the longer it burns.
    Andrew.

    Me thinks the jets need replacing. Some after dark pictures. Sure beats any heater I own.

    I use three burner Primus 743 as cabin heater. It's very powerful but quite noisy, so I use it only to get cabin warm. Longer term heating works with fireplace.

    This summer I found a six burner Optimus 515. It's real rocket-er. :thumbup: Initially it works fine but after a while flames get smaller. Pumping more pressure doesn't help. It's ex-Swedish military stock so maybe it has suffered from too long storage. It was not new so maybe fuel and/or oxidation has blocked burners a bit. I think that I need to take burners off and make a good cleaning them. Maybe I need to do de-coking for the burners: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/ab-dcs.31915/

    I have a Primus 744 that somebody fitted with two primus silent burners to replace two of the rocket burners... totally ridiculous! It's beautiful to look at but I can't get it going yet obviously. If anyone wants two silent burners for free, I'd be happy to do a swap... it's a long shot but you never know. I guess that during 'old times' all shops didn't had all different type spares on stock. They used what they had to get equipment running.

    I think that you can get it working, but of course it's not like when it has all original burners. Just get missing spirit cups, flame tubes and burner caps and put it running. It can be used for heating. I think that rocket burners won't disturb silent burners so all burners will generate thermal energy.

    Then you have a stove that tells about the times when available resources we utilized as well as possible to get things working and non-original configuration didn't prevent the use of the stove. :content:

    I think that some manufacturer had multi-burner stove with silent burners or maybe I remember wrong. :doh:

    Some time ago I told @Doc Mark not to fire one of his rocket stoves for fear that it would change the earth's orbit around the sun. I think now would be a good time to fire up it up to counteract any effect that @Andrew lighting two at once may have had.

    Regards
    John
