    I was checking out a pawn shop today and found a Aladdin 1942 MOD Aladdin 1945 was the writing on it. They wanted $20.00 for it. It is missing the filler cap/pump and the storage can. the wrench was also no where to be seen. It was in pretty good shape not dents all the legs and pot holders work. I was wondering if anybody knows of parts that are available and if it is worth $20.00 or not?? At that same pawn shop I bought a 415c Coleman 1940-1943 suit case two burner it all seems to be there a little rough when I start to feddle with it I will post some pics Thanks Wade

    I'd say hang fire and wait for one to come along which has the wrench & case. If its for part of a collection it is an incomplete item and whilst the cases are not that difficult to get hold of, the wrenches, alone, are. If you want it for a user, again its incomplete and if you ever have to remove the valve/bnr. assy. you will find that the best tool for the job is the little wrench the stove comes with. Its like it was made for it. ;) There's not much working space between those uprights and the valve body.

    I wonder if it's British or Canadian made. The "MOD*" kinda gives me pause, is there a Broad Arrow mark? US contract items are usually just stamped "US" and the manufacturer. In some cases the Milspec no. will be there too.

    * Ministry Of Defense ?

    The British Broad Arrow ownership and acceptance mark looks like a shallow vee with a straight line in it--- \|/ ----- it can be in any orientation and size. It will be present on almost all items owed or previously owned by the British military. (Except for personnell, of course.)

    Hey, Splitbus,

    I agree with Ian. Unless you want to buy this stove, just for future parts, I'd just wait for a complete one and call it a done deal. We see those at swap meets and such, on a fairly regular basis, and most of the time, selling for even less than what you've found. Good things come to he who waits. So, unless you want this one for parts, I'd pass and wait for a better one to come along, as it surely will do so! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc Mark

    Thanks for the wisdom! I am in this mode that I buy everything that I find! Sometimes there needs to be a reality check. I was pretty sure that with the missing parts that it was not worth the money but I wanted to make sure. Thanks Again Wade

    PS I am pretty sure there was no Broad Arrow if I am back there again I will give it a once over again.
