    @crazydave789 "what does that work out at in metric?" - you mean what is 1 /9d in modern money? Well, here goes:
    1/9d is 21d (1 shilling being 12d), so, with 20/- in one £1, there were 240d to the pound, therefore:
    21÷240×100 = 8.75p 'simples' as they would say in a popular TV advert:D
    Much easier just to think in £sd in your head in the first place,

    Note one major advantage of the old £sd system is that you can use it for pricing 1/3rd quantities:whistle:

    Probably rounded up to 9p after decimalisation. Remember the free conversion charts to challenge shop keepers who might have been tempted to profiteer.

    I think we should have kept the old money to confuse the EEC/EU a euro being worth 200 pence sounds much better IMO.

    I always why the US started on the dollar when as soon as the war was over the banksters stole millions off the citizens who did the fighting.
