Wow, apologies folks, my previous post didn't make much sense.

HEET in the yellow bottle is methanol, similar to the methylated spirits Doc mentions, and works for priming or for fueling alcohol stoves. HEET in the red bottle is isopropyl alcohol and is not suitable for such things except if one finds themselves in a pinch.

@Doc Mark , mostly primed with alcohol.

I have a digital caliper at work and will check the diameter of the old pricker, and compare to the pricker on my 111t.

It is possible to measure a pricker with calipers, and accurately. But, a better choice would be a micrometer. I believe that the issue of oversize jet is that precise of a requirement.
Then knowing if it is a loose or tight fit, if you only have one pricker.

I measured, and marked, a bunch of my prickers, and they are 'all over the place' as measurements go.

Well, I opened a new can of fuel and changed the jet (thanks to A&H Ent). I also changed the spindle because the gear mashed up, and installed a pricker. I boiled a kettle, and things seem to work pretty good now - no soot. Thanks for the suggestions.
