Oooo la la...I love the gimbal . You'd get my vote for sure if this was a paraphernalia contest. :(

John @presscall that CS56 burner shot might just be the best burner porn I've ever seen.

Stoves w/ Paraphernalia would be a good contest topic. It could include stove in gimbals, stoves with attached pots, stoves with heater attachments, stoves with ovens etc. Just a thought.

That was knocked on the head John. I scrapped all the themes & SRG requirements. The same open season theme will run for rest of the year. I did say elsewhere in that thread 'There is no SotM in January as we vote for the Stove of the Year. I may add a 'special' in January related to Paraffinalia.'

I believe Paraffinalia is spelled Paraphernalia. I've checked online and can't find Paraffinalia anywhere except an Urban Dictionary that says it means, "Plain white candle-wax is used for canning, too, so "paraffinalia" could also refer to tools used in sealing the jars."

The Merriam Webster definition of Paraphernalia seems a perfect match for stove related items, "articles of equipment designed for a particular use or activity."

Ben, it’s a CCS play on words. Adjuncts to stoves that burn paraffin.

Well spotted. No doubt unfair to paraphernalia relating to petrol/gasoline stoves but I think we'll keep it the way it is.

Correct & I first heard it used in that context by Mike of Basecamp many years ago.

I see, it's a British thing. I thought as much but couldn't figure it out. In America we use paraffin to seal jars and we burn kerosene in our stoves.

Aye - you'll see a lot of UK references to paraffin as a fuel here. We call gas petrol & often refer to propane/butane as gas. You'll get used to it.
