    What defines a ‘discus’ stove?

Good question @Ed Winskill . In my opinion, Presscall's primus 51 is discus-shaped. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is a more rounded shoulder on the tank required to achieve "discus" shape? Discuss.O:)

Best to resolve at the beginning of the contest. Presscall's stove is a discus. The other two, splendid stoves indeed though they are, are not.
    (Though it's closer with Anders'.)

"Discus" is a term that arose early on here at CCS (who first came up with it I don't know) to denote those stoves of the type shown by John. On the other hand, it has been a decidedly informal term.

    Thanks for the background Ed.

Can the arbiter (@Spiritburner I assume?) please make the official call and delete my entry if need be?

It seems there was some confusion in the past as well. This was the category in:

    June 2020

    August 2022

    March 2023

The first two times, a handful of examples are given in the criteria and they are all quite similar with their rounded shoulder.

Example only (not an entry) of a ‘Discus’ type 3-leg collapsible stove - my Primus No.100.

I would say yes, though a bit different than the usual examples.

Edit: referring to the Monitor reference, which seems to have disappeared....

Sorry Ed, I decided to delete my post seconds before you replied. I feel like my point was valid, but it was getting petty. I was referring to this Monitor stove, which won SotM in the same category
