Hello everyone. New member here with a question.

Does anyone know of a source for the older Svea 123 jets (Not the 123R)? The 123R jets are giants and are too big for the classic 123. I tried all of the recommendations from the old posts above but have had no luck in locating any.

Thanks all for any help you can provide.

Send them an email; ask specifically for a nipple/jet for Svea 123.

    Cheers

If you are in contact with Base Camp, remember that they are not Amazon.com... they are a small but very knowledgeable outfit.

    Cheers

    Hi
Ok, I am confused with jet sizes and I wanna clarified it. First, I have an Optimus 111 (see pic) bought 1 1/2 mouth ago and it did arrived with 2 spare part outfits (see pic) that I believe has be bought at the same time of the stove because the seller say that the stove has not been touch for the pass 50 years and bolt kit did smell very bad included the stove case. Here the stove did arrived from Blackpool, GB, with GREEN LIQUID GAS in with the same bad smell of the kits. I have had to wash every things before to do anything else. Stove has been ship by plane with Royal mail so I am like lucky to have it but that is another story. The main reason why I did buy that one is because I could have some references from spares parts kits for the rebuilt of the stove.

Now, with these references I am more confused that anything else and I thing it may have something to do with the 2502 jet description from Base Camp,Copied from Base Camp site:
    2502: Nipple .32mm for 1, 5, old 5R, 45, 48, 80, 123, and my need to have a nipple for my 123, . 23mm jet.

Into one of the spare kit, it has a cleaning needles new NO. 330, not 300A as boknasild right down (If you have a Primus #4606 or Optimus #330A pricker try one of those. They are 0.23 mm. that fit well on my 8r, Taiwan 8r nomad 2 clone, 123 and 111 jet and all flame of those stone are not all blue. (Sht), I like blue color, and on the other hand fit 2502 jet description.!?!?!$#%!!!. Maybe something to do with 1957 Optimus mistake, who knows?

Enough for now, I will load pictures and see if you can come up with somethings. Also I have more to add to fix my confusion.

    Thank

    Like one of yours, Spiritburner

Some believe the Base Camp description of the 2502 jet as having a .32mm aperture is incorrect. If it is a misprint and the digits are reversed and the aperture is really .23mm I can't say for certain since I have no way to measure them. I can say for certain that the 123 uses a jet less than .32mm.

Terminology: in my discussion below I use “nipple” for the whole brass thingy that screws into the burner; and “jet” for the hole in that brass thingy that emits the vapouriser fuel.

The 2502 is a small sized nipple not suitable for, for example, the Optimus 111 that takes a larger nipple.

The Svea 123 takes the small sized nipple. The Svea 123R takes the large sized nipple. Both the 123 and 123R, require a jet of 0.23.

The jet in the 2502 nipple should be smaller than 0.32; close to 0.23. There has been a lot of discussion here about this Base Camp listing. It’s still confusing.

I always test my jets with various wires (prickers of known size or guitar string), to make sure I’m fitting the correct nipple.

I’ll post photos of these different nipples later.

    Thanks Tony.

I have a lot of prickers. They vary in size with almost every decimal inch measurement possible. So, the manufacturers did not think that the pricker size was critical.

Yes; that is true. I measure mine with a micrometer: I’ve listed a lot in the Reference Gallery.

Edit: I have some Base Camp 2502 nipples in the shed (I think). When I’m back there I’ll check the size of the jet.

If you’re worried about the correct jet, I think Fogas.se has them.

To muddy the waters further on the question of Svea 123 jet sizes, I seem to remember that the last time I put a micrometer on the wire of the folding pricker from my late 123 (Optimus, ringed vaporizer), it measured .27mm thus obviously incompatible with a .23mm jet.

It’s also interesting to note that Fogas lists a different jet (munstycke) for the Sievert/Svea 123 (2511) and the Optimus 80 and Primus 71(2502). The Optimus 80 having the same vaporizer as the Optimus Svea 123.
