Sources for optimus stoves and parts in Australia

    no, no cases with this lot obviously been thrown away as unservicable, thanks for the offer but i'm going to chuck some money at basecamp, they deserve something for sponsoring this site.

    i didn't buy that stuff with the intention of building a 111 but i'm impressed with the fact that spares are available and represent good value when you see the prices these stoves fetch on e bay.

    plus, with these specialist suppliers if you don't use them they may not be there a few years down the line.

    i bought the tanks to experiment with, i got a hankering to build a faux radius 43 with the telescopic pot rests, i got more chance of growing a third set of teeth than getting one of those at a price i would consider acceptable and if i got one it would only get thrown in a backpack and used and abused. then there is that clamshell primus with the hinged pot rest and the windshield folded into the lid it has to be a design classic
    for cases i am using british army alloy mess tins,
    hardly scarce and easy to trim down, the dutch army stainless steel ones are better but i need to practice forming a rolled edge before i start modifying them
