Storage life of Lpg cannister stove seals:

I have a Brunton stove base converted into remote stove as described

In MYOG - A Winter Canister Stove using your Summer Upright Stove and the Brunton Stove Stand - Backpacking Light

But minus the heat shunt. It was converted to a Trangia gas converter but as has only beeb used briefly to test then shelved fir several years.

I wondered if the (synthetic presumably) cannister / hose seals have a storage life:

If unused/lightly used to they last indefinitely or should one replace cannister stoves (or their seals) every X years irrespective of use.

Also yes, keep an eye on rubber parts perishing due to age. Won't be frequent, 10-20 years, with some rubber and fuel combinations failing almost immediately while others will be fine 30+ years later. As before, keep an eye on things.

In automotive applications it's understood that rubber components and exhaust systems continue aging, whether they're used or not. Many timing belts have a calendar age replacement schedule as well as a mileage interval for this reason.
