First, I would like to say that I wish I had the woodworking skills that some members have shown. There is nothing quite like a well crafted wood box to house a fine brass stove. Given my lack of talent in that direction, I was looking around for an easier answer. I discovered on ebay that someone was selling Makita tool boxes originally intended for cordless tools. The dimensions were just right for my 1.75pt kerosene/paraffin stove (Butterfly 2412). Below are the photos that show the box and my full rig. The box even has enough room for two burners, a small fuel bottle, meth bottle, and 10-panel windscreen. This is the package the box was shipped in. Stove box open to show how everything fits. In the Navy we called this a 'static display'... As you can see, plenty of room. The pocket on the lid is perfect for the trivit and spares kit. The 10-panel windscreen is a perfect fit for the box. The windscreen is in the black pouch at the bottom of the box. Rubber feet are a nice feature. Rubber feet on the side allow this box to be stacked. I liked the case so much I bought a second for my Optimus 45 stove. Still working on that stove and will need some parts before I can safely store in a box (no travel cap for where the burner fits). Hi Stu, You have come up with a really neat solution for classic stove transit/storage boxes. They look to be good quality. Base-Camp have reserve caps for your Op.45: #2050 Reserve lid for 00, 45, 48, 210, 100/4128, 210 £ 4.75 GBP. You need to have Viton or Nitrile washer as well. Best Regards, Kerophile.

All, Thanks for the complements! I forgot to mention, the light blue/green material is pieces from a sleeping pad that I inserted in the bottom to give some cushion and also to take up some room and keep the gear from rattling around. Stu Sanford

Hey Doc, they make good emergency kits me think, stove, lamp, water, fuel, food that stows away nicely in the trunk of the car. Have to think out which ones should go into the kit including first aid etc etc etc. Ron Update: My daughter got home and saw the box (she draws and have a lot of coloring pens ) The box is sequestered and no longer in my possession......have to wait till next week to replenish my funds
