@snwcmpr Everything is better with bacon grease lol. The reason that I use a tablespoon of the bacon grease is so that there is a liquid medium to evenly distribute the heat for a nice crisp surface and even crispier edges. It also seems to help render the fat in the spam faster. Also, it gives the spam a slight amount of bacon flavor. When I can't find the hot spam I will douse it on both sides with crystals hot sauce while it is frying and it is absolutely delicious. Beware that all of the evaporating vinegar will hit the nostrils and that isn't a nice feeling so don't lean over it and smell it when you initially douse it lol. Don't ask me how I know lol.

No bacon grease here, just good old butter. Sauteed some mushrooms and broccolini with couple CI Griswold pans on nice early brown 425NL Coleman to go with steak. Very nice weather this weekend in SoCal, low 70's, after a below average week. high 50's to low 60's with light frost one morn. Poppies and bulbs are getting ready.

No butter here, used mayo on bread. Mayo has plenty of fat and spreads fast for grilled cheese. Germans and Swedish stoves put the heat to the CI.

Hi @Daryl . Tasty dishes you prepare there!
    I envy the nice weather.
I also see that PT-2 in use.
It's chilly at my place, but I cooked something simple and classic on the balcony for breakfast.Tasty dishes you prepare there!

@IvanN Have no complaints about the Rome waffle iron. Fun to use for more than waffles. Review say it has short handles which it does but no problem. Comes unseasoned but 400 series and use make quick work of that. Potholders and cooking spray are your friends. I use two stoves to heat both sides and found when handle need potholders its ready to cook.

Primus 71 and Edelweiss cook kit not collecting dust. Good that this 71 goes down to almost a simmer which is nice with thin pans. Spring is coming soon. Daryl SoCal

Use them or lose them. Keeping the splatters outside. 1931 Primus 107 making chicken mole. 12 inch pan felt very secure on this large 2 pinter.
