@Remus1956 Took and cut up a 413D and 425NL to make single burner models. The single Coleman never made. Have two founts for 413. Take a look in the Fettling Forum -frankies, mods and hybrids for more pic.
More backyard cooking. Had tamales New Years eve and had left over rice and sauce. Started day off with eggs and fries on Primus 107 and finished with couple fried burritos on Optimus 7S.
Use them or lose them. Used my Primus 71 with Edelweiss cook kit yesterday. Was about 50F around 10am and around 60F late afternoon in SoCal. Nothing new with the fries and eggs but the chili beans and corn bread were great.
Been cutting up some fuel cans to fashion a storage/windscreen box for my 2pt 'brassies' and wife was wanting some grilled chicken for her salad. End up making some fajita type stuff. She got her chicken and I got some extra peppers for my wraps.
Asked my wife if she thought I was weird for having a collection of stoves, and she said absolutely not...and do you mind boiling up some pasta and re-heating up that sauce we made? Later she said "why would I have a problem with that...keeps my husband out of bars and pool halls, and he cooks like 50 percent of the meals...btw do you need to go to the store for more fuel?" HAHAHA
Pulled out the 413D and some vintage CI to cook up some super bowl chili for Sundays game. Hand ground some chuck roast and pork shoulder to go with the ground beef. Sautéed the onions, peppers and browned the meat on my garage work bench because it is very wind outside here in SoCal. Added some seasoning to the mix inside till I was happy with taste then separated into three small containers to chili overnight. Will throw in some fresh jalapenos in the morning for Bob who always wants it hotter. Seems chili is better second day and can get some extra fat off after it chills. Lifetime friend basically can turn his three-car carpeted garage into movie theater by moving cars to driveway. Compleat with huge big screen and sound. Full size photos to get your taste buds working.
More heating water than cooking, but testing out my Optimus 88 for the first time. I don't have the pots, only the windshield and the Svea 123, but the little 1960s camping kettle fits just grand! I can really see why people like the Svea 123 Optimus 88 / Edelweiss / Sigg Tourist combination
Used my Enders two burner 9065D to crisp up some dice spam. The dice spam went into some mac & cheese which makes a tasty combo. Also had some chili and green beans. If not a spam fan look away and enjoy the early spring bloom. Dary SoCal
@Remus1956 Very nice 500 you got there!! Meet remus1956 and his wife at my place yesterday and did some trading. He came for a Black and blue Sears two burner and 200A lantern so he could reunite his dads stove with proper fount. How nice is that. He came bearing gifts, a Enders 9061 and jar of New Mexico Hatch chilies. Super nice of him. Long story short my 500 has new home and is being used properly.
@Daryl its not bad haha....I like it. Wife says "hes really nice" And I told you some gypsies left that enders 9061 stove on the side of the road...it was either you or the scrap yard...glad you took it haha.
Celebrated my 70 year old Primus No5 firing up with no more than oiling the leather by frying up lunch on it.
