Took my new to me Optimus 88 on an overnight tramping trip. Didn't actually do any cooking as my meals were dehydrated ones left over from a previous tramping trip.
Was without power Sat. thru Wed. This was Sundays dinner cook on my 426S with the help of a Coleman oven in the garage. Homemade enchilada casserole. Enchiladas are normally rolled individually in one tortilla and when layered it is called casserole in the states.
Cooked a Chicken balti curry on the Swedish Army Ranger stove and the naan bread was done in the omnia. It was a challenge from some guys on you tube. Turned out quite nice though simmering was more of a problem than on a civilian trangia.
Added some cabbage to yesterday's lentils and wife suggested some bread to go with it. Couple tablespoons of sourdough starter, flour, pinch of salt and green onions to make some flat bread. Use a German Enders two burner on a bit of a wet day.
Been busy with some Super Bowl Chili this AM. Rather lazy chili using ground meat some diced peppers, onions and add plenty of ground spices until you are happy. First time in eight years I have added beans. Group of lifetime friends have been getting together for decades on Super Bowl Sunday. Will add some pictures of the spread latter. Still four hours to kick off and should be 74F.
Baking mini loaves* in my Omnia. *I didn’t check I had any flour before activating the yeast and had to use buckwheat flour instead.
Made some more Pozole on my Okeefe & Merritt Quick cook No.12 from mid 20"s. Has happy face burners somewhat like Kampkook. You may have had one of their stoves or refrigerators in avocado or harvest gold in your kitchen back in the day. Almost nice enough to start eating on patio. Do believe that's where I will be eating lunch. Daryl Sunny SoCal
Rained (we really need it) last night and with the clouds, cool temps 52F (11C) and gusty wind it kept me inside on work bench cooking today. Used my lunch box 111B for some lentil soup. Yes, that is picture of half-eaten bowl full, guess I could not wait.
Never heard of pozole bomb, sounds Americanish to me. My wife makes it from scratch same as menudo and lot of other stuff. For the Nixtamal I know how to make it but we go to the local store who offers corn made tortillas, masa, nixtamal
