I am looking at a SVEA # 106 stove and this model has an adjustable silent burner . My question about this stove is all 106's I have seen are of the roarer burner type. Is the adjustable silent burner an aftermarket burner or did it come from SVEA this way? Thanks Eric.
Hi Eric, you are a lucky man. Not only are you looking one of the most beautiful and well-made "discus" stoves, but also a regulated silent burner. The Svea 106 was produced as a roarer burner stove; Internal Link 1 It has a near-identical sister, the Svea 105, which carries a normal silent burner: Internal Link 2 Max Sievert (SVEA) also manufactured some stoves which could be purchased with a regulated burner. They also sold these regulated burner as an optional extra, which could be retro-fitted to a whole range of stoves, both SVEA, and those of other Manufacturers. Internal Link 3 Other Makers also offered interchangeable regulated burners: It is therefore most probable that the stove you have seen, was either modified by the dealer/retailer or later enhanced by an earlier owner. How about some photos once you have purchased the stove? Best Regards, Kerophile
