Then you need an expert opinion. As a 50 year user of Svea 123s, I only cook with them. I'm not an expert.
I have made the Brasso mistake myself, and since washed them, and not blown up, but time will tell.

 

I have used Autosol which is ammonia-free polish and safe for use around food processing areas - according to Internet.

 

I use Autisol in the chrome grille on my '71 GMC truck. Works well for that
