Here's some photos of a recently acquired Svea No 9 That came with all the original stuff still intact. Stove with all the original parts, tin, spirit bottle, funnel, prickers and instructions. Everything was severely stuck and it had to sit quite some time with penetrating oil before it started moving again. It still had all the original cork packings. I removed the jet and it felt really tight on the original pricker so I didn't change it. I did a heat and quench of the burner just for good measure. It had a small carbon build up come out, but very little. I changed all the packings and the pump leather and it fired right up. Still have some work to do on the tin as the lid has come of and also the holder inside the tin for the spirit bottle. Here are some pics from the fettle:
Here are some more photos of the stove after a good clean and some photos of everything that came with it.
Alexander, That is beautiful work and a superb fettle. I am particular to the name brand Svea, one of my favorites. What do you do with the thumbscrew when the stove is assembled with the burner in place? Does it have a storage location? It also looks as the pot support tubes are not brass, what are they made of, steel/iron? Keep up this hobby, it can be very rewarding! Thanks for sharing with us. Chef.
Thank you very much for the kind words Chef. I just adore the old Sveas too. I love this hobby and have some other stoves newly fettled that ill share with you all soon. the thumbscrew has its own parking on top of the tank. the legs or pot leg holders are tinned steal same as the pot legs
I agree! Great stove Alexander! I love all the thumbscrews! The NRV arrangement is a lot of fun too. I would not have understood it without that picture in the directions though.
