The book theyre sitting on is quite interesting if a bit light weight on content, some nice old pics though. I keep meaning to get some of it scanned, its from 1982

Many of the pics from the book are on the site - in the Svenson, Hjorth, Nyberg & Sievert articles.
It is a little 'lightweight' in content as Jason says - unlike the Hjorth 40th Jubilee publication which was a much more weighty read - in Swedish however!

 

Its about 50 pages long Trevor, most of it of limited interest unless youre into gas though. If the best bits are already online I guess I dont need to bother.

 

I may stick a pdf of the whole book on CCSv3 so anyone can download & read at their leisure.

This anniversary book is a hard-to-get piece. I guess the edition for it was very limited.
I think I?ve only seen the book two times at net auctions.

Now, I'll tell you all a fantastic story:

Last monday I talk to an old man who had worked at Primus during the 50's, I asked him some general questions about Primus, then I asked him if he had any type of Primus items - His answer was: "No not really, I've only 2 st Primus books that Primus gaved out under their 100 years anniversary, but I don't wont to sell them............
- Ok,,,
Then he said: "...But you can get one book for free"

So, this friday I got this fantastic book, it's "unused" \ \ \












What a fantiastic man!!! I mean, he paid the postcosts aswell

I gave at least one of those books away in the early days of the site - it may have been a quiz prize to marks the sites first birthday. I've certainly had a few through my hands although I'm down to my last one now.

I don't think they will be as uncommon as the stamp print Magnus has photographed his book on. There was only 360 of them printed back in 1984.

 

Obviously one of Nick Kearney's long-lost Swedish cousins testing a prototype Sheen Flamegun...

The horrible about thease paintings is that hundreds of thease was throwed away!! Yes, that's true, belive it or not.
I have no idea how many paintings there are left but I really hope that some of them still exists some where in the wide world.

That picture of the bloke flaming the ship's prop is just scary. Knowing me, I'd be standing just a little too close...

 

I've seen workmen using torches like that in a tug boat repair facility In Jersey City. The props are heated to get them off the shaft for repair or replacement. Other men with heavy hammers are banging on the forward side of the hub while the prop is suspended by a crane, to catch it when it comes off the shaft. I saw the process in the dead of winter and the heat plumes from the torches, the flame and the noise were like something out of Dante.
