    @snwcmpr Yep. That's the stuff that I use. I have also used dawn dish washing liquid with enough baking soda to almost make it into a gel. Works pretty good.

    Cheers guys I'll have a duoSSal pan on order soon with any great luck! I'm assuming new duoSSAl doesn't de-laminate like the old stuff does?

    @WingedWheel ,

    Good decision! Duossal is a combination of stainless steel, on the inside, and aluminum, on the outside. I've never heard of it de-laminating. Where did you hear about this? I'd like to check it out, and keep up with this sort of thing!! Thanks, and well done on your decision! God Bless!

    I vaguely remember reading quite a few bad reviews of original duoSSal pans de-laminating and other generally subpar performance which is why new duoSSal is called 2.0. I'm more than happy to be proved wrong though!

    I'll most likely be ordering direct from Trangia because not too many places in the UK currently have any stock of them and those that do have, aren't open!

    Tomorrow is the first time in 6 weeks since the UK went into lockdown where you're allowed to leave your home to travel somewhere for exercise so I reckon the motorbike, my trangia and I are going to the back end of beyond away from everyone for cowboy coffee:mrgreen: I honestly feel like a kid at christmas! Hopefully I'll remember to put some photos up on the forum

    Cheers all,
    Lloyd

    Lloyd,
    I've had a DuoSSAL frying pan on my Trangia 25 for well over 30 years (so mine is definitely version 1.0) and NEVER had any problem with it. And never hearing from any of my friends about problems with delaminating DuoSSAL either.

    Hm, I had one slight problem with a non stick version 1.0 though: When frying a full pile of pancakes in it (on my KAP Arctic with the 3000+ W kerosene burner!) it ended up slightly concave!?! About 5 to 7 mm lower in the middle...

    Good choice to go for the DuoSSAL!

    With a very bad overheating - really burning and close to melting the aluminium, I figure it could start to separate but that should warp and destroy even a cast iron or steel pan.
    As the sheet material is rather forged together than really laminated it is extremely difficult to split up.
    2.0 has a thicker stainless layer making it closer to bombproof.

    As Trangia tells "The difference with the previous version of Duossal is that it is now thicker stainless steel in the vessels." in its material guide.
