Hello masters of the dark arts of vintage stove repair! I recently picked up my first gravity fed stove, and upon disassembly to replace the wicks I found that the top of the steel fuel tank has many holes corroded thru it. I was able to get everything apart, and the only major corrosion seems to be isolated to the fuel tank. Has anyone here successfully repaired a fuel tank with this type of damage? I’m wondering if an epoxy coat is the best option, or possibly trying to braze/solder a repair, or…? I would love to save it as the rest of the stove and burners seem to be in great shape. Thoughts?

    Hi @Mountain cooking ,
Try epoxy and fiber in the outside, the holes are very big, just a inside coat don't match.
But that's just my opinion; other members will certainly have more relevant insights.
