Thought I would obtain an unfired Borde, wasn’t able to get a completely blue flame from my old Borde that I worked on trying to get more blue in the flame. Wonder now if that is possible?
The new one would not seal the valve when I added fuel as the wheel would not screw down far enough, threads not machined far enough, as they had a slight taper just before the area needed to seal the valve. Was finally able to determine thread size and type for the stem, was metric. Found a die to chase the threads and was able to rotate the die by hand to clean up threads and finish cutting the tapered threads. Valve seals now, doing the freezer to hot water test for leaks.
Maybe with the unfinished threads, this has other issues as well? My old stove which I sold, when turned down to a usable flame level was blue. Sold two higher value stoves to offset the price for this one.

Very nice indeed. I will have to try to get mine going better. My first attempt didn't work but you have given me some ideas. Thanks

Forgot, at the hardware store, one nut would screw on a few threads but no further, kept looking and saw with the metric nuts, there were a couple pitch sizes. This was a .70 pitch, made all the difference. Looking online for Borde thread size, found they might have differing threads.
