I caught that it was a joke, and was joking myself. Hope the smiling face at the end came through.

Although if I was inclined to electrify it, a bulb requiring a 4 gauge cord would be something to brag about.

A pair of contorted demons but none smiling. But all good.

@geeves I do apologize. No smiling emoticon changes the message considerably. This is how it looks on my screen, and I think conveys my meaning better:

That is a really great idea using one under a heat exchange like that should work very well. If a tea light candle and a coffee can will produce a good amount of heat. I know that a empty welding rod box on top of one was pretty impressive in 30 degree weather on a job site. I look back and think about how lucky I was that lamp stove on that job didn't boil over runaway on me. I think the reason why was the cast fount was on a piece of ice cold metal plate pulling the heat away from the fount. The drawbacks to them is if you need a wick raiser your probably not going to find one because they have not been manufactured in the USA from the late 1800s im thinking 1880 until the 1920s maybe 30s. I was told that most of the the wick raisers for these were actually imported from the UK. For wick measure and order one from Miles Stair because he custom orders the wicks to his specifications from Hattersley . The mica on the front of the stack is a pretty easy to find. I have thought of seeing about putting a piece of high heat glass in the one I have. Another thing about them is the screws that hold the top plate on. Those screws and little square nuts pressed in place inside the fount the threads are not standard or metric they are British Standard Whitworth aka BSW. You can find the bolts and nuts in hardware stores or import motorcycle repair shops. Most people get them confused with metric since they are not common here anymore. So the stove appears to have never been operated. Is there any rust inside of the stack at all ? What condition is the Japan black paint ? I would very much like to see photos of it. I have my lamp stove on hold because the wick raiser is shot and I'm going to have to fabricate a new one myself. If I had a wick raiser I would love to use it on the coffee table to keep my cup of coffee warm. Measure the wick on it please I'm curious of its width and thickness. They had odd sized wicks in some. You can run kero, diesel, JetA, home heating oil, low odor mineral spirits, and one time I used a cleaning solvent that had around the same flash point of diesel with no problems. Great to hear about more people having these. Thanks for sharing here and have a great day. - Josh

You are brave letting it run alone. I had one runaway on me it was scary. Thankfully I had a 5 gallon bucket to cover it with and snuff it out. Or how they can make a horrible sooty mess inside yet great to keep the mosquitoes away on the porch. Haha getting the scale back to the kitchen yes that is important. Had a girlfriend who liked my triple beam more than her digital kitchen scale fortunately she returned it because she knew that I used them for balancing. You have a great stove my friend thank you for sharing it. - Josh

I agree the stove "god's" would not be pleased with us at all. If my stove was electrified it would be like that guy who upset the godfather he looked at what was in his bed and was quite upset.

Going from memory, looking at the dates the Union stove company operated I think this one was ~1915 era.
