    Hi John,
Congrats and thank you so much for yet another over-the-top detailed post.
My ratty 417B happens to be handy, to advance this conversation (I hope you don't mind).
    Trevor, Re Dims.:
    Top Ad
    417B:....... 14 lbs 16 3/4 x 12 x 4 3/4
    Bottom Ad
    417B (4F): 12 lbs 17 1/4 x 11 1/4 x 4 1/4
    My 417B:.. 12 lbs 17 1/4 x 11 1/4 x 4 1/4
Re mine, actual dims I just weighed & measured, OD of case closed, not incl legs. With legs is 4 3/4. Mine appears identical to John's aside from his U.S.A.M.D. and...
Itchy, btw mine did fall off the truck and it looks like it.

While I'm here, the only fyi I can think to possibly add is just that the cap has a hole in the side of it.

Ben, re "...I thought about posting it in "Auction Watch." Now I'm glad I didn't!"
You're glad you didn't... me too :content:. (vs post a rarity after it ends. ...why not?)
Coincidently I've noticed a couple excellent 417Bs for good prices on ebayUS recently (I didn't post those :content:) and I hope YOU scored yourself a nice 417B too!
    thx omc

Weights and measures: it's the specification of the 'bottom advert' of 17 1/4" by 11 1/4" by 4 1/4". As far as my bathroom weigh scales can reveal, it's around 12 lbs in weight.

By comparison, my Coleman 424 of 2006 shares those dimensions (small variations) but tips the scales at a mere 9 lbs, down to the steel burners and manifold rather than the 417B's cast iron ones.
