    Hi folks,

This is my first post for a loooong time so profuse apologies for that but I will follow it up with more and pictures of my new stove. Promise!

I've just acquired a Valor 51 in excellent condition but I need some help dating it please.

Beneath the Valor trademark on the underside there is only a 6B - I believe the B is a year code but don't know when it started. Any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    John

The burner is often stamped with the same code. :?:

    Thanks Iain.

My burner doesn't have anything other than Valor and Made in England on it.

I'll post some photos for the gallery when I have a moment.

    Cheers,
    John

The code on mine was not obvious, being underneath the top part of the roarer burner flame plate. However it matched the number stamped on the base too. I am also curious about the meaning but I have not seen any explanation yet.

    Hi Iain,

Quite right it is tucked away underneath the burner and being rather sooty easy to miss (well, that's my excuse for not seeing it  ).

It's the same 6B as on the tank yet so that's two of us now who are still none the wiser as to how it should be interpreted - can anyone shed any light on this please?

    Cheers,
    John
