Above he describes: The stove lid with model name and manufacturer's logo stamped in it. The most recent Vesta Stove provides another rare look at the same text, here's that: For search reference it is helpful to include text from images. My attempt at the order/sequence of the text would be: VESTA Camping, F J Paris, Marque deposee Unis France brevet 517684 registered trademark United France ["UNIS FRANCE", not something we see every day ] patent 517684 Of the many impressive VESTA posts not sure if approx year range for production run has been offered. I started a little work on the french stoves between the 1930's and the 1960's (and a bit later). I gathered some information about the Vesta stove, which I will share in an appropriate post some day. So far, the vesta has been known in french magazines since may 1949. The patent of this model is dated 27/06/1946, but it seems like it doesn't show up until 1949. There's a mention about the "automatic unclogger" in 1950 (it wasn't included on early models). It has been sold in famous shops like "au vieux campeur" until early 1960's (still in the 1962 catalogue). Hope this helped a bit

Hello @presscall I am interested in your modification of the wick in the Vesta. You are talking about a copper tube with a diameter of 6mm. How thick was the tube wall please? THANKS Yannick
Not important, provided there’s room enough to stuff the cotton wick in it. I didn’t choose or look for a specific wall thickness because it’s unimportant, the outer diameter being the relevant diameter to fit the burner. Look for ‘6mm microbore copper pipe’ in plumbing supply sources.
@presscall Ok. Thank you. Another question : could you tell if you have a little brass part in your Vesta to insert between the wick and the burner please.
@presscall Very strange. So I don’t why there was this part in mine… What is the part R in this drawing ??
No idea. It’s just labelled as ‘conduit’ in the schematic in the Stove Reference Library. Looks like a short length of tube acting as a spacer to prevent the wick from being pushed in too far.
