That depends on how far back you extend CASG, @snwcmpr . When I met you at Joshua Tree a week prior, you gave me a bag of your delicious coffee, which I made last as long as I could. I brewed the last of it for Bryan's memorial 96 lighting. I'm glad you guys had a gathering in NC. Wish I could have joined you. ....Arch
@snwcmpr, if I had known you were giving coffee away, I would have taken some. I don't drink much, so it would have lasted a few months. See that DF on the bay? ) Duane
Well, guys. Don't pass up snwcmpr's coffee next time you have a chance! Here are the stoves I brought at Kevin's request. Left to right, Optimus 1S early regulated, Optimus 5, Aida 100, Turm 38, and Punker. Not in the pic were the Coleman 413G and 425E back at the camper.
I was most fascinated by the Primus 527 brought by @kevin cansler "I want one!" Once he worked out the kinks of the priming it was so awesome. During the 'kinks' there was a statement........ "Watch out for the tarp!" There was a tarp over the picnic table, and the flaring flames were getting quite high.
It was an honor to be part of the 1st Annual Southeast Gathering and I want to thank Ken, Brad, and Gremlin for bringing all the interesting stoves, most of which I had never seen. I haven't seen very many classic camp stoves outside my own not very extravagant collection. I didn't have as much to share, but I did get a couple of pics of breakfast being prepared.
I missed bacon and coffee ? Dang. I would have loved to join ya'll and ribbed you about "North" Carolina being "South East" lol but unfortunately this is the busiest time of year for my business. Perhaps this will grow and continue. That would be a great thing. John
Yes, just wan't sure what other threads may be floating around about other gatherings. This one was dormant for 4 years.
Yeah. Not a lot of activity. UK, Newark, every year. Coleman gatherings several times a year. Events & Meets
Bumping this thread up as I just move to Beaufort NC! Hoping to meet some of the local collectors and maybe cook some good food. It’s beginning to cool of now so maybe a quick overnight or an afternoon meetup? Just throwing this out there.
