It?s my birthday today and as I never work on MY day, off I go to the Post Office clutching a non delivery card. :?

Get my parcel home hoping it?s what I think it is.
    And it was. :D :D

Thanks to one of our gallant band here on CCS, Ladies and Gentlemen I give you ?my birthday present to myself?. :D

    Monitor3burner1.jpg

    Aren?t they a pair of crackers. :D :D

Checked that they pumped up, filled with paraffin and here?s the result.

Good job the wife?s at work and there?s no sound with the pictures because the smoke alarm in the conservatory didn?t like them alight very much :?

The silent needs just a bit more of a clean up, the roarer will need new jets, a little bit of fettling and a clean up.

I think they are both made by Monitor as this is what?s stamped on top of the roarer burners. They?re pretty much a match pair.
Has anyone got any info one them. :?:

Now normally when I light a stove up, I have to boil something up or make a pot of coffee but as I don?t have a vessel large enough to put on top I had to pretend this time around.

    Happy days. :D :D :D
    One very happy bunny

    Happy Birthday H

You indeed have a very nice pair - as you know both DS and I were having a bit of a nibble at the roarer, but I too would have had nothing to put on it except for a 5 gallon aluminium boiler which is actually fitted with an electrical element, and is also disused as I've stopped the home brewing.

I bet your Missus face will be a picture when she sees them together - impressive though they are, she may well ask " and what on earth are they for ? "

    . . . . . . . . and the answer is ? ? ? ?

    Cheers

    Keith

    Happy Birthday Henry!

I don't have all my Monitor info with me but I think this is the No:63. On the pic of the 1930's version the spiritcups were all linked but until I check further I can't say if this changed. I'm pretty sure the silent burners are not original for this model but hey - if you want to sear a steak in relative quiet this looks the way to go!

"specially designed for all purposes requiring intense heat, such as melting metal, heating rivets, branding irons etc"

& for brewing up faster than you can say milk & 2 sugars please!

I always wondered why the riser tubes were quite so long on these multi burner jobbies.
The heat they chuck out is amazing I'd like to see THIS ONE in full flight

I've just decided I want one of those as well :D :D

These are not designed for use in the house. Most are relics of the abortive Swedish space program, and its Brit imitators. Henry, you've got the thing upside down, man....

    Happy birthday Henry!!

I have seen stoves like these in a "geiser"
Don't have a clue what the English word is, it's a device to warm streaming water.
So for a shower or stuff like that.

I have checked my own, its only 6 Kw. Now 3 burners should be something like 4,5 Kw?
So you could make a nice one out of it to go shower in the woods :D

Nice ones, really, very good birthday present!

    Cheers Bart

Well, bart, the English word "geyser" must have a Germanic root, then. Like at Yellowstone park: regular eruptions of superheated steam and water....
So maybe the trolls down there have some of these heaters!

    Happy Birthday,

It is always nice to know that you survived another year. You managed to fend off all the ill that came your way. I can see no better way to usher in your following battle we call life than the beautiful pair you have there. Nice old man, Nice.

Happy Birthday, Henry! I've always been impressed by those industrial burners, the triple head silent burner looked very Flash Gordon, but the 8 burner is just jaw dropping, and yes, I'd LOVE to see/hear it at full wail, it would make a great Mpeg clip. If the clip was in infrared as well......
