I've got something interesting that I'm sure some collector somewhere would die to have. Its the prototype for the Little Magician 3-in-1 that was sold in the mid 70's. Around 500 of them were made by Action Technology Inc. I have one of the original stoves and the prototype. My grandfather was the owner of the machine shop that actually built the stoves. I believe he was the engineer that worked with the patent holder to get the product to market. There were a few that were left over in various conditions, so when I was a kid I built a working example. I used it a bit but it eventually got stolen and never recovered. About 2 years ago, we had an incident at the shop where someone crashed a car into the building. It resulted in a fire, and in the course of putting out the fire, the basement was flooded. This required a lot of cleanup and while cleaning the back room, an intact production unit was found in the storage along side the prototype. I asked if I could take them and my uncle who now owns the shop said I could. I have taken some photos of the two of them. I plan on rebuilding the production unit and using it. I want to actually camp with it like I wanted to when I was a kid 20 years ago. But the prototype is where I stumble. What should I do with it? I don't see scrapping it as an option. I'm tempted to just sell it but no idea what its worth, if anything. Its all proprietary. everything is there, and knowing the guy who built it, its highly likely everything is either an off the shelf part or so custom that its scratch made and one of a kind. Thoughts?
