Picked up a GK the other day. The more I read here I see some are collectible. I just want a user so I want to make sure I'm not going to ruin a stove someone would love to have.

I have maybe three of those, one is unused, need to lose at least one, got a couple that came with pumps or parts that were rare. One of mine has the same box and have a G in a square box.

Good to hear it is nothing special so I can use it. I rebuilt the pump and really like it. It pumps pressure better and has a better simmer along with a better top end compared to the new pumps on every stove I tried it on.

I have a bunch of the yeller pumps, most work. Great cool factor. Located a all yellow one over a year ago.

If you are thinking of trading this unused for one that is used.... Give it a bit of time. I am sure there are more than a few people that would like a new in box GK. I have a bunch of GKs. So, yes, they are not uncommon, but unused, how many of those do you see?

It had been used but only slightly. I'm giving it a test run now.

i have the G. old school cool and i like the way it works, pretty simple. the original owner messed up the yeller pump, so i use a newer pump with it. looks to me like it would run forever. i think you were lucky zeke find it, especially in the box w/ all the stuff.

Not sure what you meant, but you called it right "GK" .
You'll love it. It can simmer, MSR said, in their instructions, to release the tank pressure to simmer.

Didn't want to call it something its not. I do love it quick to light and packs easily in my stove bag. Came with 2 parts bags and replaced the brittle yellow hose on the pump with Tygon hose.

I love it! Simmers well even at higher pressures with the yellow pump. Of course even my whisperlites do a lot better with this pump! My newer xgk ex stoves really roar with the old yellow pump and simmer better. A win win situation!

    Good to hear.
Be careful not to lose the teflon disk above that hose. A replacement is quite difficult to locate, but @presscall had a thread about making something to work in the absence of the original.

I took it apart in a Baggie when I changed the hose.

nice stove, lucky you. thanks for posting. MSR built a pretty simple to operate stove. loads of tech involved. i have a G, the yeller pump was buggered by the previous owner so i use a newer pump. i like the G for various reasons. it is easy and fun to use.
    all good

as i understand it, MSR built reliable stoves to melt snow at altitude for water (rehydration). i'd say they succeded. a young friend of mine uses his Whisperlite Internationale when mountaineering to do just that, melt snow.
