    Hi all,
I just received a new stove, a Primus 96, marked Z, so of 1935 origin. It came to me from France in a tin that deserves some tlc. It misses the spirits can and the spanner (for now I use an original Bahco adjustable spanner, from the same manufacturer, which I found appropriate, but very much later fabrication date), but is otherwise complete.

In the last picture you can see a reserve pump leather that came with it (dry, but came out oiled very usable), which it really needed, as the pump action was without result with the original leathher. I also changed the fuel cap seal, but otherwise did not do anything but to fire it up!

and again after it became a bit darker in the evening, for extra pictures

a tad yellow, but fine for now.
    Simmer also a bit yellow:

My first disc stove, it takes a bit of getting used to getting it going, after stoves of the like of a 111, so I had a completely sooted burner bell after the first try. Easy to clean though.
It will get some cleaning and of course the tin wille have to be treated to rust removing gel (already ordered!).
Nice little stove it is, my newest acquisition as well as my oldest stove.
I hope you enjoy the pics.
    Greetings, Tonio

Before you know it you'll have all the different versions of the 96!

Cool stove and it alone is enough to keep anyone occupied, BUT you mention tidying away the years of neglect the tin has seen; I’d be as much interested in seeing that bit.

One of the most impressive restorations of a stove tin that I have seen reported ( He used Hammerite rust remover gel) :
