Can anyone identify this stove? It was my grandads but I'm lost to work out the model or builder.

I thought it may be a valour, but the copper feet threw me off.

There are some resemblance of a Burmos stove on this one.

Someone with better knowledge of Burmos might give a hint if I am wrong.

I'd also like to ask if anyone knows the purpose of the screw in the center of the burner head? Is it so convert it into a silent burner?

I would agree it looks like a Burmos or something else by T&C. Removing the screw allows the nipple to be removed and replaced with a non-articulated nipple wrench (the one normally used for silent burners). Easier.

The burner is a Townson and Coxon patent. The key element is the removable screw which gives easy vertical access to the nipple/jet of the stove:

    Valor No.4601 Roarer Burner.

This is a roarer burner, andno magic conversion to a silent is possible.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

It is possible rhat your stove is a Parasene model. Some of their stoves had copper feet:

Thank you very much, it does appear to be a Parasene and I assume it has a valour filler cap. Thanks for the help!

Hi @Anton I believe that the filler cap on your stove is a later addition. It has a built in air release valve. There is already an air-release built into the side of the filler spigot. Why would any manufacturer build two separate air-releases into a stove?
As you say, the “new” filler cap/air release valve does appear to be a Valor part:

A nice Valor Packaway has come my way!

    Best Regards,
