Hi all I already ask for this on CPL but it seems nobody knows this burner "I bought this incomplete Cobra heater for the burner It intrigues me Does somebody seen the kind of burner ? On a Cobra ? on another heater or stove ? In this configuration, it is impossible to run it properly any advice will help me, thank you"
thank you @presscall I already own this kind of Cobra heater and these are mounted with the burner which is presented in the Cobra catalogs I have but the one I talk about is..... hum .... special I really don't understand how this could run properly Am I missing something ? surely !!! i was asking for if somebody had already seen such a burner but it seems that no this one can't run properly as this
@Michel , I think the last (flame) shot shows the central open tube, which was unclear before that. Who would make such a burner? I see @presscall has responded already. If you have stumped him, there is nothing I (or anyone?) can add.
@Scrambler @presscall There is a good chance that the mobile parts placed on this burner do not correspond to this Cobra burner, but could be from a stove or heater from another brand That's why I ask, someone can have an idea of the origin But I am well aware, for having restored many devices, that this cannot work properly as it is
Apologies @Michel, I viewed your enquiry hastily, was distracted by the heater itself and didn’t see/interpret the apparent ‘impossibility’ of that cap. I’m put in mind by it of a Cobra stove burner cap that this way up makes no sense. Right way up it starts to make sense … … better still with the cap added. It’s possible your cap’s intended to work the other way up and with a (missing) top of some sort. The component that looks like a conventional silent burner inner cap doesn’t look like it’s a partner for the cap you have, if that’s the case, but there’d have to be something similar to replace it, maybe with the top incorporated.
Yes @presscall rich idea and as you said, Ernest Moufflet is used to that on the cast iron Cobra stoves this could be that, with a missing cap A big round cap...why not !!??
@Michel It’s not clear from the photos what degree of clearance there is between the central tube of the perforated cap and the hole in the other cap, but if it were sufficient, rhis arrangement would probably work. Perforated cap in blue Inner cap in red ‘Missing’ top in green
OK @presscall But the central tube is higher and the inner cap can't be the way you draw In this configuration, impossible for the gases to go out The missing top must be a dome ...I guess
