A while back Blaze was asking about a Primus 71 AX fz, I said it was 1957, I was getting confused with the tin, sorry Blaze. Anyways, here's my stove 1958, and tin dated 1957. The tin was in a horrible condition, the can of paint shown is what I use, on these particular tins - not heatproof, but who cares. It is a good alround paint, excellent as a primer/filler.
Hi Iani if you give a good slow bake in the oven it improves the temp rang a bit. i am trying to find a good match for the primus grey in a high heat or cellulose if any one can help i would be grateful but thanks for the reply about the date regards Blaze
Hi Blaze I have never known these tins, to come in a grey, only silver. I dont consider it is worth the effort, in using HR paint on these - but that is just me. As long as I can keep them from oxidising again sometime soon - rust. Regards Ian
Do be careful not to heat the tin to the point it begins to smoke and fume. Zinc fumes are very poisonous!
