60's Meths Stove

    This model has no makers name other than "Made in Liverpool" It has a very retro feel about it and a very colourful lid. Unused I reckon.

    Hi Listertrucks. There were several makes of these in the 1950's and 60's and were quite popular and they were a cheap effective little meths stove.I have one somewhere but I have mislaid it. Yours is a very nice example being in very good condition - the lid is in mint condition. I doubt it has been used much in its life

    I had one exactly the same, I loved the paint work. Pity it's a major case of false advertising. Mine had trouble getting a Trangia fry pan hot enough to do decent eggs. This was on the bench in the workshop. Never did field test it. Please do prove me wrong, I'd like to think mine was a dud some how.

    Gotta love the paint tho! :thumbup:

    There are many like this but that is the first Ive seen with e wire pot supports on the inside. Most had just the tin to support the pot.
    When I was about 10 or 11 I used one of these to melt lead into fishing sinkers.
