Not knowing what "CRS" stands for I had to look it up. Certified Residential Specialist? Nope. Catholic Relief Services? Nope.
Congressional Research Service? Nope. Can't Remember Shit? Yep.

:p:pBen’s boxes reminded me to look out in the shed. There was an old box , unopened, with a Swedish post mark. Been there for years, but as I’ve learned from this thread, they don’t have to be opened right away, so I just put it back.:p

Still quarantined so I pulled down another unopened box. This one sent from Sweden five years ago.

Inside was a 1914 Primus 303 which I've posted in the Reference Gallery here.

Hey Ben, we could have parcel of the month!
You post a picture of an unopened parcel and we try to guess what’s in it.
    The winner gets the contents.

I don't really know. The one's I've posted so far I came the bottom of the garage. There's more stashed in the attic. Stoves are easy to stack and store when they're securely wrapped in their shipping box. So I've been just stashing them away for years thinking I'll get around to them someday. Getting them down and opening them up has given me something to do during the quarantine.

Ok buying stoves and storing them away unopened for 5-6 yrs is not collecting. ITS HOARDING! You have a problem and I'm here to help. I can be up there in just a few short hrs to help you get rid of them. It's all for your own good. I'll bring my pick up to haul them off for you. Again I here to help.

@Duck I'm overwhelmed by your big heart and kind offer. With you the giving never stops. I'm truly touched but surprised you'd bring a pickup truck instead of a Subaru pulling a U-haul. After all love is what makes a Subaru a Subaru. I'm going to pass even though I feel the love in your generous offer. Opening old boxes is the only thing keeping me busy during the quarantine.

    Ben,
Years ago I recall your "I got this pile of boxes" or some such. Years ago I shared a pic of a pile of boxes on my stoop (one day shipment) .
Do you ever greet your mailman.. the boxes from all over the world tend to spark their curiosity.

"I thought" surely when I ran out of shelf space would end the madness but nope (piles of boxes). Your "I've been just stashing them away for years thinking I'll get around to them someday."
    I can relate.
I justify any way I can. It raises eyebrows but I've got the man cave so don't need to explain.
Duck is half right, on cable TV, piles of boxes... we are HOARDERS (without the nasty sh_t). I am a hunter-gatherer, pack rat hoarder (w/hate resources going to landfill)... maybe it's in the genes.

However , if you wait for the next show on cable TV we are "PICKERS" and we have ancient cool shit just waiting to be flipped for triple profit! My man cave is not a ton of sh_t piled, it is a picker's honey hole!
In either case, "the collection" got out of control. I wouldn't say I'm better (because you've fired more than I) but I research before I buy and do unpack them (add to the eventually get roundto its).
    ----------------------------------

THANK YOU for posting your 1914 Primus 303. Non-original and missing some things but I very much appreciate that. Nice post. Not an exact model I recall but "a type" I recall. I'm sure to reference vs stoves here ( … thinking I'll get around to them someday. LOL). thanks again

Ben, after reading OMC's post I feel I owe you an apology for calling you a Hoarder. You are just a picker with alot of patience. But my offer still stands if you change your mind.

Today's edition of Corona Boredom features a relatively recent package. It's only been in my garage unopened for 2 years. It contained a nice Hippolito #2 heater which can be seen here.

Today's unopened box has been in my garage since July of 2017. I should have opened it earlier because it contained a really cool gimbled Primus 5 featured here.

O.K. I pulled down another unopened box today. This one came from Australia in 2017.

    Box.JPG

Inside was a Canadian Coleman 500 marked "C" 38 meaning it is was made in the 3rd quarter of 1938. According to an article in the Reference Gallery these were the first of their kind.

    02 38.JPG

    03 c.JPG

    04 Coleman.JPG

The "L" shaped lever was only on this early version of the stove.

    05 L.JPG

This will probably end up a parts stove or shelf queen. It's in rough condition and I've got another "C" "38" that's in much better shape. It also came from Australia.

Being on a gimbal I'd assume that at somepoint in its life that stove has lived on a boat or similar at some point? Seen loads of ovens etc mounted like that on sailing yachts, Always got called by customers to 'come fix the broken cooker' because they hadn't greased any bearings and it had seized up at a funny angle!](*,)

    All the best,
    Lloyd
