i may be going up the wrong tree here. hi chaps been thinking about this for a while now. the 111 t. how come its a multi fuel when you can only run 3 leggers on paraffin ? the burner looks the same to me. kez
jet (nipple)? i have tried all three fuels w/mine on same jet, but perhaps best to have an alcohol jet installed if using that fuel? (don't have the alcohol jet)
Kerry, The 3-leg brass stoves are not suitable for gasoline or alcohol primarily because they do not have a fuel shut off valve (and some more safety features). The way to shut off a legacy brass stove is by venting out pressure from the tank, and this is only safe with kerosene. Try it with gasoline and you have a fireball in your hands. There are some additional issues of jet size and fuel-air ratio, but they are all secondary to the main safety aspect. Yonadav
I picked up a "T" last summer, came with the restrictors but no alky jet, so on my recent order from Base Camp I ordered one. I'll try that sometime.

Hi, Kez, The restrictor was originally used just when burning Meths in the 111T. First versions of this stove included a special jet, for Meths only, and a tube with various holes in the sides of each end. When burning Meths, you changed out the jet (and really should have changed the needle, too, but that was never addressed), and installed the restrictor, which limits the amount of air available to the burner. To install it, you removed the outer burner cap, and slid the restrictor tube down inside the hole in the center top of the burner, then reinstalled the outer cap. With your 111T setup in this manner, burner Meths was more efficient, than burning Meths with the Multifuel jet installed. Later versions of the 111T actually included two restrictors, with the old one supposedly used with Coleman fuel, instead of Meths, and a new one for using with Meths. Different holes in each one, you see, for different air regulation. You "could" burn kero in your 111T with the restrictor in place, but the stove would not run properly, so I wouldn't recommend trying that. With the restrictor in place, a kerosene would not get enough air to mix properly with the fuel, and the stove would not run as designed. I don't understand your last question, about "the 3 or 4 notch thing". ??? Please ask that one again, with a bit more information. I hope some of this helps you a bit. In any case, the 111T is probably my most favorite stove of it's type. Reliable, steady, and easy to use, it's also quite powerful, and has the versatility of using three different fuels, and also simmering like a champ!! doc things are a lot more clear now the notch thing. what i should of said was, the needle. is there a cleaning needle at the end of the hi,lo control dial where it fits in the burner ? and if so, how does it fit in ?. sorry for daft questions but i want to know so that i can use it as soon as it gets here as its my b,day stove i wanted a stove " in a tin " and it was going to be a new optimus hiker or a 111. the 111t got the vote. now living in hope kez
