@OMC The point here is this one. The 1934 brochure logo represents the earlier like on my traveler 1 or the later like on knee and made in Austria/Germany examples? Or there is an intermediate logo with two more light lines behind letters J R as visible on the brochure? I am searching to find a stove with such logo.
Well my theory is that the the logo on 1934 Brochure is like the one my traveler, so I said that the logo with straight horizontal light lines like on knee example is post 1934 pre 1945. This logo covers latest made in Austria and some wartime made in Germany examples. Nicola
I meant to remind of open question not just war time, Phoebus stoves Austria v Germany v Vienna and timeline has also been confusing/confused. gieorgi's "...reality of production - gives "his own" facts..." myself not 100% sure what that means. In example just above gieorgi shows your logo on tin It IS on a Phoebus item, i stand corrected... you search for it on stove... good luck with that : ) . If tin & stove came together (usually true), stating the obvious your logo in-use on tin (and catalog) YET not on stove. ...reality of production - gives "his own" facts... Your logo on catalog & tin but not used in stove production. Again, I would shy from hard dating timeline based on catalog illustration. All illustrations are more than just indicators and thankfully many are accurate nonetheless there are plenty that are not.
Ok, so for what we know till yesterday… Are these two logos sequential? And when they changed? For sure the 1934 brochure is in between. Nicola
Ok, I think that the graphical stamped logo representation could be misleading, all in my Phoebus 30 set: Nicola
Nicola, EDIT missed reply, yes graphics/illustrations less reliable than stamped in brass (which is still not etched in stone : ) ) -------------------- you have inserted illustration AND 2nd version of early MJR (Iani's 17?) so I have to shy from "for sure" declarations. On the plus side, as often is the case gieorgi gets much credit and recently Nicola !!! some confusion remains but i think some *progress has been made right here right now. i DO thank you thank you thank you very much *Nicola scroll up to my 2nd item... change occurred during 1938, do you agree? do you have link supports May 1938?
So the straight light lines logo remains the same from 1916 to 1945? When replying to Knee I used this discussion as reference and looking at that logo I missed to read 1916 as starting point, but only 1938-1945 that was in reality defined as possible end date of the use of that logo. Nicola
as the "golden think"... changes "need to be read" from incomed new designs - > see pre 1911 Primus bottom stamping problem the same with catalogue/newspapers graphic - some times - far from the factory - do care care on actual signs - and use - thats what they have
So Knee example could be dated post 1916 pre 1938? I was wrong then saying post 1934, I am sorry for that I want to correct myself on that discussion.
Ok mistakes help us to make discoveries. I think I have found the mysterious “in between” logo here Phoebus N° 30 early bun foot Not straight horizontal light lines: and not like on my Traveler 1: We need better photos of logo on that Phoebus 30. @Doug L Nicola
What do you think. The light lines seem to have a wider angle… On traveler 1 light lines start higher, at roof level:
Another early Phoebus 30 with light lines with a wider direction angle: PHOEBUS 30 and Doug one differ from my Phoebus 30 posted above that has very horizontal light lines. These two examples are more aligned with Phoebus 635 lamp logo. I am not saying that there is another logo style that we ignored, but for now we can take note of these little different details. Nicola
@gieorgijewski do we have a sharp image of it? I can’t find any… It is not like the one on my traveler 1.
