@Barrett That green is the copper salts burning off. I suspect the open flame will get bluer after you burn a tank or two of clean kero. Nice blue with that pot in place and good simmer. Looking good! ....Arch
@Garth.... I'll see your 111 and raise you a 22. Nah seriously, well done I wish I was burning that cleanly.
Here’s an alcohol stove I just made today. Wanted a stove with built in pot stand to specifically boil 1-2 cups water for my dehydrated meals while backpacking. It’s made from a beer bottle and has just over an ounce fuel capacity. Can boil 3 Cups on one filling if needed. For my use it’s perfect. Windscreen is needed as it’s wind sensitive. On older ones I’ve made I used fiberglass exhaust wrap for the wick material but this one I used carbon felt as I have a fullblanket of it. Hope this qualifies as flame shots. Not the typical pressurized stove but works. I make a high pressure alcohol stove that’s good in the outdoors and more wind resistant. There’s a couple I use in winter that’s not affected by freezing temps. Thanks for looking! Kal
Banged up number 4. Hasag No1 Wifey hates the idea of me fixing this as she's Russian. Anyway as the last of the banged up stoves it was it's turn Started here.... Haven't finished yet but its up and running. 3.38 boil of 500 mls.
Sorry That post and the flow of words and pics went south as soon as I tried to add pics. ............
Hi @Barrett , as long as we get to see some flame shots we are a forgiving bunch! You did very well on the Hasag, congrats! Best regards, Wim
