This months theme is a battle between 3 small iconic models in the 'L' variant. That's the stove & the tin as it came from the manufacturer - not an aftermarket biscuit tin etc. A chance to showcase the stove & it's tin. The three model's are the Primus 96L, Optimus 96L & Radius 20L

NB: Primus 96 Pocket Outfits, Deluxe or Sports Outfits etc are not included. These did not have the L suffix.

Please see rules below - please note increase in picture allowance this month to show off the tins!

Post your nomination as a reply to this post.

    The rules.
    • Stove must feature in the Stove Reference Gallery (SRG) with a link posted in the entry. So now's the time to get those stoves photographed & posted! If it's been listed for years already that is ok too.
    • Maximum of 5 pictures in the entry. The pictures must show the stove working & tin in it's entirety. More pictures can of course be shown in the linked SRG entry - as many as you want!
    • Stove must be presently owned by the member.
    • One entry per member.
This nominations post will be open for the month of December. At the end of the month the post will be closed & the qualifying stoves placed in a blind poll for members to vote for. The poll will remain open for 1 week. Most votes is the winner.

The winner will get a SotM Winner notation on their posts & profile & a £10 voucher code from The Fettlebox

    Good luck & have fun

Here's a late Optimus 96 with the tall tin. There's only graphics on the lid of this tin, but still stylish in my opinion. More photos in the SRG: Optimus 96 late, version 5

A somewhat seasonal entry from me, my beloved Radius 20 and original tin, featured here in the Stove Reference Gallery.

As the old English Carol goes, quoting the cry of the night watchman: 'Past three o'clock, and a cold frosty morning, past three o'clock, good morrow masters all!'

The tin is certainly not pristine, it has been well used and because of that there is no issue of it still being well used! Here performing that most important secondary function which many tins bear scars from- that of windshield- in snow that became a whiteout.

For a stove with only a half-pint tank, I've got through an enormous quantity of paraffin over the years, it has given great service!

These days simply calling such a product a 'Radius 20' wouldn't be enough, so I put forward my slogan suggestion.

'Radius 20- because bacon doesn't fry itself!'
